DON QUIXOTE – 1973

Nureyev restaged the ballet for the Australian Ballet Company, during the Arts Festival held in Adelaide in 1970. He revised this version and adapted it for filming. The shooting took place in a disused hangar close to Melbourne at the end of 1972. Nureyev behind, and in front of the camera with the Australian Ballet. Excellent ballet film, and outstanding record of Nureyev in a comedy role. A new masterization of the film was released in 2000.
